Al Siddiqi Holding raises awareness of breast cancer

Doha: Al Siddiqi Holding will encourage its stores and restaurants employees to add a pink accessory to their uniforms to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Pink Day on October 24.

To mark the event, the company will manufacture pink scarves for women and pink handkerchiefs for men.

The accessories will be labelled with pink ribbon, the international symbol for breast cancer awareness.

Participating stores across the country are Almotahajiba, Migato, Dary, Gelco and Wafi Gourmet, Biella, and The Noodle House for the restaurants.

Being held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), the initiative will be shared on the company’s website and its supportive social media channels.

“One woman in eight is diagnosed with breast cancer and women are still dying from the disease.

“While awareness is growing, there is need to reach out to more women. We want our women in Qatar to understand that early detection is a first step in the fight against cancer,” said Nasser Al Siddiqi, Managing Director and board member of Al Siddiqi Group.

“Together with the breast cancer community, Qatar Cancer Society and the ‘Wear it pink’ initiative in UK, we hope to further increase awareness, raise funds and promote the need for greater research”.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is held every year in October to help women better aware of the common symptoms and seek help as early as possible, which increases their chance of survival.
